Scholarship Endowment Funds

Holston Conference Camping has 3 Scholarship Endowment Funds.  Donations to these funds honor those for whom they are named and help children and young people attend camp where they grow in faith and discipleship. To make a donation, click on the name of the Endowment Fund.
  1. The Jack and Ruth Porter Scholarship Endowment Fund.  Jack was the first Director of Camp Wesley Woods, Townsend, Tennessee in Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church. Ruth served at camp during his tenure as both Kitchen and Business Manager.  Together, Jack and Ruth brought the love of Christ alive for the 100’s and 1,000’s of campers and staff while at Camp Wesley Woods.

  2. The John and Lou Maynard Scholarship Endowment Fund. John and Lou have been involved in the camping ministry for many years, first as faithful volunteers at Camp Lookout, then as Directors at Buffalo Mountain Camp. Camp has been a very important part of the lives of the children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

  3. The William and Georgia Millett Memorial Scholarship Endowment Fund. This fund was established by the 3 daughters of Bill and Georgia Millett, Stella M. Roberts, Ruth M. Chiga, and Edie M. Sampson, from the estate of their parents.  Camping ministry played a very important role in the Millett family spiritual development both as participant and leader.
